The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Broad Purpose of the Role
The Manager, Priority Programs (Manager) leads the co-design and delivery of primary health programs with Member Services, aimed at improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities by providing high quality, culturally appropriate health services in identified priority areas. The Manager works closely with Member Services to guide the delivery and transition of priority programs into operations, ensuring sustainability where appropriate. This includes overseeing the design and coordination of system supports and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen Member Services. Additionally, the Manager provides expert advice, shapes policy, and advocates for primary health issues and priorities that impact the ACCH sector.
The Manager is accountable to and reports to the General Manager, Primary Health Programs. The position works under limited direction and has management responsibility for the delivery of priority primary health programs, in line with well-established frameworks, policies, procedures and other requirements.
