Code Black Coffee is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team at our pumping, vibrant, and spectacular flagship venue at our HQ in Brunswick.

Code Black Coffee is simultaneously a laboratory, a creative kitchen, a workshop, and a hub for connoisseurs of the dark art and science of coffee.

We are looking for our next incredible leader as someone with minimum 2 years solid supervisory experience, some specialty coffee knowledge, the desire to inspire and lead a team (not just be a boss) and who has a genuine passion for providing outstanding service to our great customers.

An extraordinary Assistant Manager will have a strong work ethic and will provide ongoing support to the Venue Manager; as well as motivating the FOH team and taking the lead when required. We're looking for someone who is switched on and organised, with the personality to attract customers to keep coming back again and again.

The ideal candidate will be able to motivate and contribute to leading our team and will need to be able to:

Act as constant role model for our team and showcase your professional industry skills in a friendly and genuine manner

Ensure the daily service is run to a high standard consistently and efficiently

Assist in identifying and determining areas for cost reduction and improvement

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

Manage staff performance, provide constructive feedback as required, identify weaknesses, and provide training as appropriate

Encourage a supportive, positive, and fun workplace for all employees

Inspire team members with a lead-by-example approach with a positive and energetic attitude

Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of both Food Safety and OH&S requirements

Serve alcohol (RSA required)

We would ideally like someone who wants to contribute to Code Black Coffee and is looking to grow and develop with a supportive and dynamic company over the long term. Due to this, sadly we cannot consider working holidays visas.
