In this key role, you will provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Health Services and lead the coordination of administrative functions across our Ipswich and Laidley Medical Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinic Manager is a mid-level management role in healthcare, primarily responsible for overseeing and directing the health centre staff and activities within the clinics. Their core responsibilities include ensuring high-quality patient care, managing resources effectively, and supporting staff development. They also play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and supportive work environment for the health team.

Clinical Leadership and Patient Care:

Responsible for the overall quality and safety of patient care within their unit. They ensure that care is evidence-based, patient-centred, and adheres to relevant standards and policies.

Staff Management and Development:

This includes recruiting, orienting, and training new nurses, as well as managing performance, providing feedback, and supporting their professional development.

Rostering and Staffing:

Accountable for creating and managing effective staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage, optimize workload distribution, and maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios.

Resource Management:

They oversee the allocation and expenditure of resources within their unit, including supplies, equipment, and budget.

Communication and Collaboration:

Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff, to ensure seamless and coordinated care.

Quality Improvement and Risk Management:

They are involved in identifying and addressing potential risks, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Change Management:

Lead and support the implementation of changes within their unit, whether related to new policies, procedures, or technologies.

Staff Support and Wellbeing:

They are responsible for creating a positive and supportive work environment that promotes staff wellbeing and retention.

About You:

· A minimum 5 year’s experience in this type of role, or a similar role.

· Strong background in health service administration or office coordination (ideally in a clinical setting).

· Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience liaising with senior staff and external stakeholders.

· Proven supervisory experience in a team environment.

· High-level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and clinical booking systems.

· A commitment to culturally safe service delivery and community wellbeing.
