About Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics
Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a non-for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. We currently service six clinical areas including general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology. A new physiotherapy clinic will soon join our network, further enhancing our commitment to high-quality healthcare and clinical education.

About our new Physiotherapy Clinic
The Physiotherapy Clinic will provide a comprehensive range of physiotherapy services, delivering innovative and evidence-based treatments to the community. It will serve as a training ground for physiotherapy students and a hub for research and development in the field.
About the Role
With the addition of a brand new service, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Clinical Services to lead our existing Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic and establish our new Physiotherapy Clinic. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of clinical services within a growing organisation.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, future-focused individual with strong business acumen, comfortable operating in a fast-paced and changing environment.
As a key leader in the organisation, you will be accountable for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and commercial success of designated MTHC clinics. A critical focus will be on driving innovation in clinical service delivery, identifying new commercial opportunities, and ensuring the sustainable growth of both existing and new clinic services.
While this is a full-time position, we are open to considering part-time applicants with a minimum availability of 0.8 FTE.
About you

Essential Selection Criteria
Tertiary degree in a relevant allied health discipline, with extensive professional experience and eligibility for or current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or equivalent governing body.
Extensive experience in delivering high-quality clinical services to patients in a private practice or public health setting across multiple allied health disciplines.
Demonstrated experience in driving commercial activities and achieving revenue targets within a healthcare setting.
Significant experience in the management of staff and in developing and leading high-performing teams, with the flexibility to supervise a broad range of areas and a commitment to maintaining clinical currency.
Proven experience working across multidisciplinary allied health settings and fostering collaborative practice.
Proven track record in setting strategy with appropriate governance, planning budgets, and meeting budget and all other relevant KPIs.
Proven senior-level experience in influencing, negotiating, problem-solving, and managing conflict.
A sound understanding of trends and issues in allied health at regional and national levels, including issues in the current clinical education context.
Knowledge of allied health service models and experience developing clinical services within a collaborative practice model.
Demonstrated experience in establishing and launching new clinical services or healthcare businesses.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
Postgraduate qualifications in management or business administration.
Knowledge of clinical education models and contexts, particularly within the Victorian environment.
Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
Experience in change management and organisational development.
