About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Waste Services team! The City is looking for a community-minded individual to be the next Supervisor of our two Recycling Centres in Bullsbrook and Malaga. Our supervisors are resilient, accountable and lead by example.
The Supervisor role is based at the City’s Recycling Centres, which receives and manages waste and recyclable materials for processing. The Supervisor will act as the City representative on site and is responsible for day to day management and operation of the facilities. The Supervisor is also responsible for management of staff, casual employees and volunteers required to operate the facilities.
The Supervisor, Recycling Centres is a self-motivated person with a high level of knowledge and skill in Materials Recycling Facility services and operations. This person should show high skill levels in supervision, and lead by example in customer service, work quality and work ethics.
Being an innovative member of the Waste and Recycling Management services team, the Supervisor, Recycling Centres will utilise strong customer service and negotiation skills to respond to internal and external customer requirements and issues, as well as obtaining the best value outcomes for the Fleet and Waste Services business unit.
The Supervisor will be proactive and exercise good professional judgement on a wide range of operational issues; especially in the area of Work Health and Safety Management, which is essential to this position. The Supervisor may be required to undertake other tasks within the Fleet and Waste Services business unit, as required.
The Supervisor, Recycling Centres must be available to work Thursday - Sunday, in line with roster requirements.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Available to work Thursday - Sunday
- Current “HR” class drivers licence
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.
- Minimum 2 Years’ experience in Supervision or Team Leading of waste or similar operations
- Proven experience in tendering and contract administration
- Proficient use of computers and associated software

The salary for this position will be from $81,628 to $96,391 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant, plus weekend penalties and commute use of a fully maintained City vehicle.
