About the Role
As a Junior Compliance Officer in a growing remittance company, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth compliance operations and strong administrative support. Working closely with the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer), you’ll help uphold our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) programs, while actively contributing to risk management initiatives.
With your sharp attention to detail and proactive mindset, you'll conduct compliance reviews, monitor customer activity, maintain a strong regulatory framework, and ensure we stay up to date with industry regulations. Your work will directly support our commitment to regulatory excellence—and your contributions will truly make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies.
Assist the MLRO in managing AML/CTF programs and compliance frameworks.
Prepare and submit reports to AUSTRAC in a timely manner.
Conduct regular risk assessments and support internal audits to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
Deliver internal training sessions on compliance protocols and emerging regulatory updates.
Report compliance issues and trends to the MLRO and senior management.
Liaise with AUSTRAC and other regulatory bodies as required.
Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and documentation.
Assist with the development and refinement of compliance-related policies and procedures.
You'll Need
Compliance Experience: Background in financial services compliance is a strong advantage.
Strong Communicator: Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to work well with internal teams and regulators.
Detail-Oriented: Accurate, analytical, and able to identify risks and recommend solutions.
Proactive & Independent: Self-driven with a problem-solving mindset and ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Team Player with Integrity: Collaborative, ethical, and committed to doing the right thing.
Organised & Efficient: Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Eager to Learn: Stays current on compliance trends and continually looks to grow.
