What you will be doing:

As a Compliance Officer, you support our compliance team by providing sound and accurate feedback, in line with legislative and regulatory guides, identifying breaches and assisting with client requests to ensure internal and external compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing legislative and regulatory guides and providing feedback to compliance queries.

• Ensure all staff are compliant with company policy, legal requirements, and debt collection guidelines.

• Identifying and investigating compliance issues, breaches and risks to the organisation.

• Lodging suspicious matter reports through AUSTRAC.

• Assisting with responding to client audits or requests for information.

• Assisting the Compliance Manager and the chief risk officer with day-to-day activities as well as more complex tasks as they arise.

• Assisting with the preparation of legal documents.

• Providing feedback on legal/ compliance issues to the wider business as required.

• Maintain accurate records, including account status, file notes, and customer details, within the system.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Legal qualifications preferred but not essential.

• Understanding of compliance and operational risk practices.

• Logical and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Good documentation and report writing.

• Professional approach to all duties.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
