The Role
We are seeking two Multicultural Mental Health Recovery Workers to join our Culture in Mind (CIM) team. One role is full-time and the other is 0.6 part-time. In both roles, you will provide culturally responsive, recovery-oriented psychosocial support to adults from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds experiencing complex to severe mental health challenges. These roles involve conducting non-clinical assessments, developing recovery plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.

This is a full-time (part-time position considered) role based in the Ipswich.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Conduct psychosocial assessments to inform recovery planning for CALD clients.

Develop client-centred, recovery-oriented care plans.

Provide therapeutic interventions, considering the social determinants of mental health.

Use digital client management systems to track individual caseloads and coordinate group work.

Collaborate with a diverse team of stakeholders, including interpreters and Multicultural Peer Support Workers.

Refer clients to specialised clinical mental health services.

Work within a culturally responsive framework to deliver recovery-oriented support.

Participate in interdisciplinary team processes, including case reviews and discharge planning.

Contribute to service improvements and evaluations.

Participate in after-hours emergency roster and out-of-hours work when required.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in working with CALD communities in mental health or psycho-social support settings.

Proficiency in digital client management systems and documentation.

Excellent cross-cultural communication skills.

Knowledge of advocacy and strengths-based frameworks.

Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams, facilitating case reviews and shared decision-making.

Ability to manage time effectively and independently.

Queensland Driver’s License, Blue Card (Working with Children), and National Police Clearance required.

Additional Desirable Skills:

Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences.

Lived experience or representation from CALD communities.

Proficiency in a language other than English.
