Clear Logistics Australia Pty Ltd (CLA) is a diverse and accomplished marine services provider. Australian-owned and operated, we provide marine solutions to the resource and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking the following, experienced personnel to join our operation in Brisbane. The successful applicants should possess, strong communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and a solid level of excavator operating skill, knowledge and experience. Mechanically minded applicants will be very well regarded.
DECKHAND / EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
Applicants must have the following minimum qualifications to be considered;
Marine ticket (preferred) or willing to obtain within 6 months
Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
Senior First Aid Certificate
MSIC or the ability to obtain an MSIC
Hold a relevant Excavator ticket or VOC
Have previous experience operating minimum 30T Excavator
About the role
CLA are contracted to dredge in Moreton Bay and have a multi-purpose vessel that is equipped with world class dredging equipment. CLA require an experienced Deckhand with excavator operating experience to facilitate vessel loading/trimming and operational needs specific to this project. The project is long term. This is a Brisbane based role so must live local or be able to travel to Pinkenba and have reliable transport.
Successful candidates will undertake daily dredging operations in Moreton Bay and unloading alongside a berth in Brisbane River. The candidate must fit into the required rotating roster of 5 days on and 4 days off.
Position Duties will also include
Maintaining a strong healthy attitude towards safe work practices
Operating new Caterpillar 330 Excavator for cargo trimming
Completing general / standard machine maintenance as instructed
Possessing a sound knowledge and ability around conducting machinery pre starts
Carry out all tasks in accordance with company-based policy and procedures.
Fulfil your obligations under the vessel Safety Management System.
About the candidate
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable unload of product on our vessel, the successful candidates will work well in a team environment, have good communication skills and be able to manage competing or changing priorities. With a hands-on attitude to their work, all team members will consider the project requirements when fulfilling their role and work together to achieve these. This position requires a 1st June 2025 start date – eligible applicants please apply ASAP to the 'Office Manager'.
The successful candidates must have full and current Australian working rights, will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, and may be required to undergo a medical and/or police check.
