About the role

Retz Civil PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in the execution of our civil projects, operating state-of-the-art excavation equipment to support our civil team. You will have experience in operating 10-35 tonne GPS excavators to perform civil drainage, final trim & bulk excavation works on various civil projects such as subdivisions and industrial estates.

What you'll be doing

Safely and efficiently operating excavation equipment, including hydraulic excavators, to carry out a variety of earthmoving tasks

Interpreting project plans and specifications to execute excavation work to the required standards

Performing routine maintenance and pre-operational checks on assigned equipment

Collaborating with other construction crew members to ensure seamless project delivery

Adhering to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

Maintaining detailed records of work completed and equipment usage

What we're looking for

Extensive experience (3+ years) as an Excavator Operator in the construction industry

Formal qualification in operating excavation equipment, such as a HR or HC driver's license and applicable machinery certificates

Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment operation, and safety protocols

Excellent spatial awareness and problem-solving skills to navigate complex job sites

Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently

Commitment to delivering high-quality work, has a strong work ethic, and maintains a safe work environment
