Join a Canberra based department in a team responsible for managing complex people issues relating to behaviour, performance and health and safety.
The Case Management team is responsible for managing complex employee-related issues within the organisation relating to behaviour, performance and health & safety. They provide support for injured or ill staff, performance issues and workplace grievances and misconduct. The Case Management team also ensures accurate record-keeping and reporting, as well as compliance with regulations and ensures procedural fairness.
Your new role
As a case manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Navigating and resolving sensitive staffing matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Tackle workplace disputes, investigations, injury management, and performance issues with precision and care.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop efficient, compliant solutions tailored to legislation and best practices.
- Provide timely, accurate advice and uphold procedural fairness every step of the way.
- Ensure impeccable record-keeping, contribute to reporting, and lead the charge in process improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or tertiary qualifications in HR, Employee/Industrial Relations, Business, Law, or a related field (desirable)
- Proven experience in managing employee complaint investigations and case management processes.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels to achieve results.
- Strong analytical skills in the interpretation and application of industrial instruments, policies, and procedures.
- High-level communication, relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to coach and educate leaders on best practice people management.
- Experience in resolving complex and high-risk cases with procedural fairness, ensuring all parties are informed of the process and that the outcomes are fair, balanced, and legally sound.
This role is only open to Australian citizens and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (baseline, NV1 or NV2).
