Are you an experienced finance professional looking to broaden your exposure across a wide range of accounting and finance functions? We're seeking a Management Accountant to join a Canberra based NGO on a 12 to 24-month contract. This role will suit finance professionals with 3-5 years of experience in government or commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of data sets for executive, board, and budget reporting.
• Partner with business units to analyse budget variances and enhance financial literacy across the organisation.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end journals to accelerate financial close timelines.
• Identify and process additional accruals through business engagement.
• Prepare adjusting journals to correct coding errors and educate stakeholders to prevent recurrence.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests, such as Questions on Notice (QoNs).
• Participate in system testing for new finance functionality and help create training materials.
• Assist in Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) return preparation.
• Provide backup support to finance team members during leave periods.
• Support fixed asset and lease accounting processes and analysis.

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards (highly desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
