POSITION DESCRIPTION

Looking for Male Disability Team Leader

Duties and responsibilities may include but is not limited to;

  • Leading, managing and supporting the Team with the day-to-day operation to ensure a coordinated, consistent, and high-quality approach to service delivery.
  • Reporting outcomes in line with the relevant service agreements and the requirements of the other stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and detailed mandatory reporting.
  • Ensure Progress Notes, Monthly and Incident reports are sent within the agreed timeframes.
  • Lead, manage and support the floor staff in their day to day operations to ensure a coordinated, consistent, and high-quality approach to service delivery to our participants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with family members and significant others to promote positive outcomes for participants.
  • Manage disputes, conflicts or concerns regarding staff and participants.
  • Manage house budgets and ensure all relevant receipts are entered in accordance with MSJ process.
  • Recruitment of new staff and ensure onboarding is done for successful staff.
  • Training new staff.
  • Staff rosters.
  • Meet and greet with new participant.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all MSJ homes are kept at an appropriate level.
  • Organise house meetings where staff can provide feed back about the SIL property.
  • Absence cover when staff are not available.
  • Comply with all MSJ policy, code of conduct, procedures and practices, external funding body requirements and legislation.
  • Apply and uphold principles of equity and anti-discrimination in the workplace and adhere to organisational and legislative Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
  • On call – following on call procedures when rostered on.
  • Managing risk, hazards and damages.
  • Identify continuous improvements.
  • Identify relevant training for staff members.
  • Manage your team's performance and conduct relevant meetings accordingly.
  • Adhoc tasks as required by your direct line manager.
  • Occasional weekend work if required.

Key Requirements essential -

  • Tertiary qualification in Disability Industry or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Complex Mental health and Behaviours of concern.
  • Experience with defusing escalations
  • Experience in the co-ordination and management of 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people.
  • Experience in using Proda, Microsoft office apps.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously in carrying out agreed case plans, or individual plans, for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience training and running multiple teams who aspire to achieve the same goals.
  • Staff management.
  • High level organisation and time management skills, which includes the ability to organise work priorities to meet changing demands.
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Some out of office hours required (evening and occasional weekend work)
  • Must be able to de-escalate high risk situations.

Demonstrated capacity to manage crises and critical issues.
