Step Up Support Services is an NDIS provider, offering direct supports to clients for all shifts, including sleepovers 7 days a week for social and in home supports. We provide a ‘Home Base’ for all clients and staff to come 7 days a week that is connected to our client and staff care offices.
We are seeking a 9-5 client servicing and medical officer with disability experience who will be able to both engage with clients and assist with tasks such as checking medication logs, client shift notes, annual reviews and even occasionally providing additional direct support to clients as needed. This team provides an after-hours support service to our support workers outside of business hours, which rotates throughout the team and is paid additionally to position salary (e.g. typically one night per week and 1 weekend every few months).
This role will ideally be an entry level position with the potential to lead into a more complex/case manager position in future.
The role:
Review medication logs
Work alongside our Health and Safety Manager to follow up on medication, wound care and other medical needs for clients.
Review and analyse client shift records and follow up accordingly.
Respond to client, staff and stakeholder requests.
Complete appraisals of support workers.
Work directly with our clients.
Join after-hours roster (following training).
Participate in client-specific training.
Support our disability workers to provide high-quality support to their clients.
The applicant will need to be:
Have experience and qualifications with wound care and medications, preferably nursing.
Be well-presented and eager to engage with people including clients, staff and stakeholders.
Be confident and capable, communicating both verbally and in writing.
Be tech savvy and able to navigate project management software.
Able to multitask between varying admin tasks.
Have a current NDIS screening check with experience providing support to people with disability.
Have a great sense of humour, be able to roll with the punches and work under pressure.
Mostly we need you to have a passion for working with a different ideology to make a change to how supports can be delivered.
