As the Senior Finance Officer you will facilitate, support, and deliver on high quality management accounting, reporting, monitoring, analysis, and financial advice in a Public Sector and semi-commercial environment.
What you'll do
You will:
- Develop and deliver both formal and informal training sessions and presentations, and actively contribute to meetings, to develop own and stakeholder expertise, compliance, and an understanding of Queensland Health financial management policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Respond to general financial enquiries, and requests for ad-hoc financial information, reporting, and advice.
- Develop productive relationships across finance and their stakeholders in supporting robust financial management within and across the Divisions, communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the provision of financial services, including management accounting concepts, practices, and strategies; and financial management legislation, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills with the use and development of contemporary financial reporting practices, reporting fundamentals, and the understanding of financing, cost and revenue structures, drivers, and the relationship between each.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and experience
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, and consultation skills within a multidisciplinary workplace
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage a heavy workload, competing priorities, and the ability to meet deadlines and establish work priorities
- Finance or equivalent qualifications will be highly regarded
