ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the People, Culture & Capability function in a part-time, flexible capacity. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the CFO, you'll lead everything from recruitment and onboarding through to engagement, compliance, policy development and cultural initiatives. This role is offered on a part-time basis with flexibility—whether that’s three full days or five shorter (school-hour) days. You’ll be the go-to for people advice across the business—bringing structure, clarity, and commercial HR leadership to a high-performance, delivery-focused environment.

DUTIES

  • Partner with the CEO and CFO as a trusted advisor on people strategy and culture
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Own performance reviews, engagement surveys, and other cyclical people processes
  • Build and embed HR policies and compliance frameworks aligned with legislation
  • Develop initiatives to foster engagement, accountability and team connection
  • Navigate ER issues and liaise with external HR legal advisors to ensure legislative alignment and best practice

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We’re looking for a people-focused HR generalist with experience in tech, consulting, or professional services. You’re commercially aware, enjoy working independently, and are ready for a role where you can genuinely make a difference. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution—and you’re excited by the opportunity to step into a trusted, visible role where your ideas and input truly matter.

  • Proven HR generalist experience in a consulting, technology or professional services setting
  • Solid understanding of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to influence and coach senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working autonomously and driving delivery without micromanagement
  • Resilient, grounded, and commercially minded with strong judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or similar
