YOUR NEW ROLE:

This 12 month contract position is responsible for supporting the development of key strategic partnerships by working closely with the leadership teams of a defined client group. It plays a critical part in building mutually beneficial relationships across the organisation and delivering globally aligned, locally relevant business outcomes. By leveraging the People & Culture business plan, this role identifies and drives opportunities that support the achievement of strategic commercial goals.
Key responsibilities include:
• Partnering with a defined client group to support and influence strategic outcomes across the wider organisation – occasional interstate travel may be required.
• Translating business strategy into people plans that reflect Volvo’s values and drive performance.
• Using your knowledge across talent, recruitment, development, ER/IR, safety and reward to support business outcomes.
• Coaching and challenging leaders on key people matters, building capability, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Acting as a change agent and trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborating with global, regional and local HR networks to ensure alignment, compliance, and innovation.
• Helping shape and execute the P&C Strategic Business Plan in your area—and beyond.
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A proven track record as a commercial, forward-thinking Business Partner.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise agreement (EA) negotiations, with the ability to navigate complex industrial landscapes.
• Strong experience in autonomously managing workplace investigations, including working in consultation with external legal counsel where required.
• Passion for building values-based, commercially minded leadership capability.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Proven ability to design, implement and lead best-practice people programs that align with business strategy.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, global matrix environment.
• A deep understanding of the organisational ecosystem—including culture, leadership, capability, and systems.
• Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
