IT Change Manager - Digital Transformation

Sydney CBD

Initial 12-Month Contract

Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced 'IT Change Manager'.

Key Criteria:

  • Extensive IT Change Management Experience
  • A minimum of 5-10 years in IT change management, including leading large-scale, end-to-end digital transformations with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated success independently managing and driving all stages of change initiatives, covering stakeholder analysis, communications planning, training, and release management across significant internal teams (project delivery team, stakeholders, and the community).
  • A hands-on approach, actively working alongside project managers and delivery teams to ensure change strategies align with both technical and community driven business objectives.
  • Hands-On Digital Transformation Expertise
  • Proven track record of delivering change management for customer-first digital solutions, such as self-service portals or complex website rebuilds, ideally within high-volume service environments.
  • Recent experience working within a waterfall methodology to plan, execute, and monitor complex IT changes, ensuring rigorous governance and clear milestones are met.
  • Leadership in Complex Environments
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate change across multiple business units (approximately 10) and guide cross-functional teams (around 20 internal members, plus vendor resources), ensuring ongoing stakeholder engagement and alignment at all levels.
  • History of cultivating strong relationships with executive sponsors, delivery teams, and community stakeholders, balancing operational efficiency with enhanced external customer experience.
  • Technical Proficiency
  • Capable of understanding nuanced technical challenges, collaborating closely with technical teams where needed to assist in the communications, and communicating potential impacts and recommendations to senior leadership with the project manager.
  • Familiarity with CRM or vendor-management platforms is desirable, especially if tied to large-scale portal enhancements or customer service expansions.
  • Other Attributes
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, to articulate the vision for change, create impactful communication materials, develop training documentation, and lead change with diverse teams effectively.
  • Professional certifications in change management (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) are advantageous and demonstrate a solid foundational approach to delivering change.
