Grade: Clerk Grade 9/10, commencing salary $125,693 plus superannuation and leave loading
Duration: Temp
Location: hybrid opportunity, located in Parramatta, Sydney and or Gosford (will be expected to come into the office more often than you are at home each week), which is subject to change based on team needs or broader divisional and Departmental flexible work policies.

About the Directorate

The Contracts & Procurement Group is within the Business Operations Team that sits in the People & Corporate Services Directorate, under the Strategic & Corporate Services Stream.

The Business Operations Team encompasses four key silos of work:Contracts & Procurement

  • Business Analysis
  • Business Operations Group
  • Fleet & Uniforms

The Contracts & Procurement Group is responsible for

  • Undertaking business needs, assessment, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
  • Develop, coordinate and lead sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet business needs.
  • Develop and administer contract management plans, negotiate changes and modifications, supplier performance management and compliance requirements though effective supplier relationships to enhance business outcomes.
  • Plan and lead contract negotiations in the establishment and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes.
  • Partner with staff from across the organisation providing high level advice and guidance to build expertise in procurement, provide governance and improve procurement practice and outcomes.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunity.
  • Document procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements fully to provide an audit trail for probity and audit purposes.

Please Note - As we are still in a transition phase, there may be minor shifts to our scope as the new SafeWork model matures.

As the Senior Contracts Advisor, you may have direct reports and would be responsible for significant changes to program outcomes and timeframes that are likely to escalate or require submission to a higher level of management. This role is fully accountable for the delivery of work assignments on time and to expectations in terms of quality, deliverables and outcomes

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience and familiarity in identifying and promoting ways for the business to manage demand, given that this may involve changes in business unit practices that go beyond procurement.
You will also be able to continually build professional knowledge in procurement decision makers, given the complexity of procurement legislation and policy and the dynamic nature of markets.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at 125,693 base plus superannuation
