• Permanent part time in our Calvary Newport location Tuesday, Wednesday , Friday and Saturday from 7:00 am until 3:06 PM.
• Salary ranges from $28 to $29 per hour.

About the role The Cook is responsible for planning and the preparation of meals, while ensuring the individual needs of residents are being met and makes certain that each resident is offered choice. The Cook ensures all meals are prepared in line with care plans, nutritional guidelines, Calvary National Choice Menu, Calvary National Dining and Nutrition Guide and relevant legislation.

About you

• TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Certificate Level III in Food Studies (or working towards)
• Experience in bulk cooking and food preparation
• Knowledge of IDDSI and nutritional guidelines
• Ability to plan menus to meet standards e.g. Food Act and Occupational Health and Safety.
• Ability to order food to meet requirements of menu cycle and keep within budget
• Understanding of infection control and safety principles
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, e.g. stoves, ovens etc.
• Completion of (HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) or willingness to obtain
