About the role
We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Family Advocacy and Support Services (FASS) project. FASS is an integrated service that helps clients who have experienced, used or are alleged to have used family violence by providing duty lawyers and social support workers at court.

The Information and Referral Officer will work on:

  • Intake and assessment
  • Risk identification
  • Legal information
  • Legal and non-legal referrals

The successful candidate will have excellent organisation skills, experience with intake and referrals and good telephone skills.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country, but you will be required to independently travel to outreach services, courts and tribunals throughout Victoria.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Practical knowledge of family law, family violence, and child protection gained from experience in a legal and/or call centre environment and the ability to work with people who have used and experienced family violence.
  • Demonstrated high level legal diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately assess and address client needs.
  • The ability to travel independently and readily through metropolitan and regional Victoria.
