Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation (JCAC) is governed by an elected body representing the Aboriginal community of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region in the Northern Territory.
As one of the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations in Australia, with a history stretching back more than 30 years, JCAC has a long and proud record of community service delivery. The Corporation grew out of the Warumungu Papula organisation, formed in 1974.
Its primary purpose then, as it remains today, was to alleviate poverty and improve the wellbeing of the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and surrounding homeland communities.
Today, JCAC delivers the following services for our mob:

The Child and Family Services business unit works to look after children and families. It achieves this by delivering services around HIPPY, Playgroup, Aboriginal corers service (kinship care), Family Support Services and the Child and Family Centre. These service’s support families to be strong, including helping parents to develop skills, visiting families in their homes, providing a place for children and parents to connect with services and other families, and hosting other service providers to provide additional support for families. All services work in partnership with other organisations through referrals, information sharing and collaboration to ensure strong service delivery.
The Family Support Service support officer works to support the delivery of funded programs under the Community Safety business unit and reports directly to the Program Manager.
As a FSS Support Officer you will have responsibilities for key tasks related to service delivery. You will work effectively with your team and take direction from the Family Support Service Program Manager.
You will be given key tasks that must be delivered to the requirements of funding, regulatory and internal operational requirements. You will meet your role KPIs, record required data to evidence service delivery to required standards, and other duties as required.
You will understand that in your role you are representing the organisation, team and the funded program, and you will always behave in a way that promotes strong stakeholder relationships with the community and funding bodies. This will mostly be achieved through your ability to engage and deliver quality services.
You will also have a commitment to work, health and safety, and supporting a work-safe culture within the team.
Implement funded programs across Barkly Region, which is the Family Support Service and joint program Aboriginal Carers Services (Kinship)
Provide families and pregnant mums with practical support in their homes and tailor support plans, to provide safety in home for children and babies
Connecting and referring families to service they need, when outside of program scope
Monitor case plans and client documentation, always ensure client confidentiality
Attend regular remote trips when required
Build strong collaborative relationships with nternal and external services
Support a safe-work culture by taking reasonable care for your own health and safety, and that of others.
Support safe working conditions, including prevention of workplace bullying, harassment and violence.
Comply with any reasonable instructions, policies and procedures provided in the workplace
