About the role

We currently have a vacancy for a full time experienced Business Development Manager to join the team. In this pivotal role you'll be focused on driving the company's growth and expansion within the freight forwarding industry. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and success of a leading player in the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector.

Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:

Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand Viking Cargo Logistics' client base

Developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to promote the company's freight forwarding services

Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their unique needs and requirements

Negotiating and closing deals to secure new business contracts

Collaborating with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction

Monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities

Reporting on sales performance and providing recommendations to the management team

About You

Along with your strong work ethic and previous experience in a similar role you'll be/have:

Proven track record of success in business development or sales roles (minimum of 2 years) within the freight forwarding or logistics industry

Full Australian working rights or be a permanent resident

Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

In-depth knowledge of the freight forwarding industry, including regulations, processes and best practices

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address client needs

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals

Degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field
