About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the University's expansion into child and adolescent mental health research. This important area of research is a key pillar of the Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing, and the successful candidate will play an important role in increasing the profile of the Institute and its focus on child and adolescent mental health.

Specifically, the Research Fellow will undertake research under the direction of the Little Heroes Professor of Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Some of the key position responsibilities of the position will include (but is not limited to):

  • Leading quantitative and qualitative research projects in child and adolescent mental health under supervision of the team leader and collaborating with other team members to successfully deliver project milestones and meet key performance indicators.
  • Planning and executing research activities in child and adolescent mental health by generating new ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information to develop these ideas into competitive grant applications and active research projects.
  • Coordinating, planning and executing the project tasks required to collaborate with project stakeholders, including young people with lived experience, their families, and industry partners.

About You
To be successful, you will have completed a PhD in child and/or adolescent mental health, psychology, education, public health or related field, as well as two years of research experience in child and/or adolescent mental health, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations at a national and/or international level.

You will also possess the following key position capabilities:

  • Demonstrated emerging research experience in terms of peer-reviewed publications and presentations at a national and/or international level in child and/or adolescent mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative research design and methodologies involving children and/or adolescents.
  • Demonstrated experience in research settings relevant to child and/or adolescent mental health (e.g. research in schools, clinical practice, community or population settings, or online)
  • Demonstrated emerging research interests in digital technologies (e.g., smartphone apps, AI) for child and/or adolescent mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering project targets on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake collaborative research and establish and maintain effective relationships with team members.
