Part Time Bookkeeper (2-3 days per week, $30-$40 per hour)

Genesis Edge Law Group, a boutique law firm, is seeking a proactive skilled Bookkeeper on a part time basis. We are located conveniently near the city centre, close to Central Station and the Light rail.

Genesis Edge Law Group provides high-end legal services with a specialization in family law.

The role is part time with flexible hours, ideally between Tuesday to Thursday, and may suit a person seeking to balance home and career.

With a minimum of three years’ experience, the successful candidate will be able to complete the following day to day tasks:

- Recording daily financial transactions (including legal trusts) and updating general ledger

- Prepare and lodge end of month and quarterly processes and reconciliations

- Preparing trial balance and ensuring tax compliance

- Skill in generating related financial documentation for accountant sign off

- Process invoices, payments and payroll as needed

- Review of third-party documentation for evidence purposes

- Assist with general admin duties as required

To be successful in the role the candidate will possess:

- Minimum three years’ experience with previous experience in a law firm highly regarded

- Understanding of trust and office accounting and the ability to manage accounting deadlines

- A proactive self-starter who is looking to contribute to the wider team

- An eye for detail with a proven record of accuracy

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard privacy

- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite especially Excel

- Previous experience with legal software such as Smokeball or LEAP an advantage
