We are seeking a Purchasing Manager with understanding on the joinery industry to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in driving operational efficiency and cost optimisation.

About the Role

As a Purchasing Manager, you will oversee the sourcing, purchasing,importing and stock control processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. You’ll collaborate closely with the operations, sales, and production teams to manage supplier relationships, improve purchasing strategies, and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms to reduce costs.
• Identify alternative suppliers for stock products and present benefits to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales and production teams to refine stock forecasts and support project pricing.
• Manage purchasing activities, including placing orders, tracking goods, and organising subcontract manufacturing.
• Oversee stock control processes, including consumption monitoring, physical stocktakes, and managing obsolete stock.
• Handle freight and clearance for imported goods and ensure supplier compliance with regulations.
• Work with the operations manager to manage subcontractor agreements.

• Proven experience in procurement, supplier negotiation, and inventory management.
• Strong analytical and forecasting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with supply chain regulations and import procedures.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
