Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for infrastructure delivery? This QLD state department is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning phase for the establishment of new public schools across Queensland. This critical role will oversee internal and external teams, drive project governance, and ensure all approvals and business case requirements are successfully met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of preliminary evaluations, detailed business cases, and planning approvals (including Ministerial Infrastructure Designations).
• Coordinate external consultants and internal project teams for efficient project delivery.
• Manage procurement processes and consultant engagements.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting and forecasting for project expenditures.
• Act as the main liaison between internal stakeholders, external agencies, and government bodies.
• Provide strategic project advice to senior management and executive teams.
• Maintain high standards in project programming, risk management, and governance reporting.
• Build strong collaborative relationships across departments and agencies to achieve project goals.
• Prepare and present reports for governance boards and working groups.

The Successful Candidate:

• Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects, preferably within a government environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants.
• Expertise in project financial management, procurement, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under minimal supervision while delivering high-quality project outcomes.
• Knowledge of government approval processes and reporting frameworks (desirable).
