About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, we are seeking a dynamic and autonomous FP&A Manager to help shape the financial future of the organisation. You will lead financial planning processes, deliver high-quality analysis and reporting, and provide insights to drive strategic decision-making. Partnering closely with Finance, Marketing, and Fundraising teams, you will support growth, sustainability, and mission alignment through detailed analysis of fundraising performance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial systems implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage the annual budget cycle and lead quarterly reforecasting, developing financial models to support scenario planning and long-range forecasting
Deliver strategic insights through variance analysis, KPI tracking, and ad hoc financial modelling, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for cost optimisation
Prepare clear, concise monthly reporting packages — including budget vs actuals, variance analysis, and narrative insights for the Board — while ensuring an accurate month-end close and timely financial reporting
Partner with Fundraising and Marketing teams to set targets, evaluate campaign ROI, and provide financial insights to support planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Analyse donor and campaign performance trends to inform revenue forecasting and identify opportunities to strengthen fundraising strategies.
Lead the design, selection, and implementation of new financial planning, budgeting, and reporting systems

Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; ideally, CPA/CA, CIMA qualified
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, including budgeting, ROI analysis, and performance reporting
Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with tools like Xero, Spotlight, Power BI
Proven experience implementing or optimising financial systems or software
You must be a hands-on, driven FP&A professional with the desire to consistently add value
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills at all levels, with Finance Business Partnering experience with internal teams and operations
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly and persuasively
An analytical mindset, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
You do not need to have Not-for-Profit experience to apply, but you do need to have an interest in working for a small, mission-led organisation
The role is full-time and is based in the Sydney CBD office, with working-from-home flexibility 2 days a week
You must have full, permanent working rights in Australia and be based in Sydney
