About the role

As the Operations and Logistics Co-ordinator at Yang Ming (Australia) Pty. Ltd., you will play a vital role in supporting the company's operations and logistics functions. This full-time position is based in North Sydney, NSW and will involve managing the smooth flow of containers and information to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to our customers.

What you'll be doing

Work closely with the vessel operation and planning team of the Principal, to ensure fastest turnaround of vessels whilst on the Australian coast.

Assist Principal’s planning team by forwarding them the CBF in timely manner, vessel’s schedule update, berthing situation, hazardous and refer details and information as necessary, late receival and other related information, so they could plan vessel accordingly and efficiently.

Ensure that import, transshipment and hazardous cargo are lodged accordingly and in timely manner for each port of call. Create export hazardous manifest on behalf of our Principal at each port of departure and submit same to vessel operator without delay.

Work closely with the stevedores, port and government authorities to ensure fastest turnaround of vessels whilst on the Australian coast.

Ensure that the stevedores are given the necessary information on vessel’s program and schedule, including distribution of EDI “baplie” file to the terminal and to all member of the consortium, exchange of containers for each port and other related information required. Liaise with port agent to ensure that proper managing of vessel’s arrival, departure and attendance is as per Principal’s requirement.

Work closely with customer service to ensure that all cargo booked meets vessel’s cut off and shipped on schedule. Assist customer service to ensure that all cargo booked for transshipment via Australian ports is arranged efficiently, economically and to schedule. Keep CBF up to date and assist Customer service or Commercial to ensure our allocation is maintained according to allocation.

Assist customer Service in any special cargo queries, OOG, break bulk, hazardous and any other cargo which requires special care or attention in handling and streamline processes.

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a similar operations or logistics coordination role, preferably within the container shipping industry

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers and internal teams

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements

Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, compliance and documentation requirements
