Are you passionate about building genuine connections and empowering communities? The City of Karratha is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to support the development and delivery of engagement initiatives that shape the future of our City.
In this role, you will:
- Work across diverse projects and programs to deliver high-quality engagement activities aligned with the iap2 public participation spectrum.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, community members, and stakeholders to foster a collaborative engagement culture.
- Design and implement community consultations — from surveys and focus groups to online engagement — and ensure findings drive decision-making.
- Provide expert advice on best-practice engagement methods and help strengthen internal capacity in community engagement.
What we’re looking for:
- A motivated communicator with experience in delivering engagement and consultation activities.
- Strong facilitation, relationship-building and public speaking skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Social Sciences, Social Impact, Community Development or a related field.
- Knowledge of iap2 principles and a genuine commitment to amplifying the community’s voice.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when needed.
