About the role
Rainbow Imports Pty Ltd is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team in Wetherill Park, NSW. As our Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and accounts of our growing import business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional to contribute to the success of our company.
What you'll be doing
- Manage all day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for the organisation
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing
- Process payroll, superannuation, and employee entitlements
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payment gateway transactions, and financial statements while maintaining accurate financial records
- Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and other tax obligations
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including analysis to support business decision-making
- Oversee End-of-Month (EOM) processes, including financial reporting, cost actualisation, and inventory reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
- Work closely with management and external accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Work with inventory systems to track and manage stock levels
- Assist with general administrative and accounting tasks as required
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within the import or retail industry
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related role
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, transactions, and reporting deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and software (e.g. MYOB, Xero)
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset
- Mandarin speaking preferred
