About the Role
The statutory Planning team is currently seeking a full-time Statutory Planner. As a Statutory Planner, reporting to the Statutory Planning Team Leader, you will deliver first class planning outcomes through the provision of well-considered and consistent Statutory Planning services including decision making, processing, advocacy and general advice.
You will be charged with managing minor developments as well as undertaking general statutory planning duties.
About you
As the successful applicant you will have:
- A degree in Statutory Town Planning, or relevant qualifications/experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the accurate, timely and cost effective processing of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use planning applications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective negotiation, problem solving and presentation skills.
The following would be highly desirable:
- Experience using systems such as Objective, MERIT, Property and Rating Application Management or similar.
- Accreditation with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
- Membership to the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) or Victorian Planning and Environmental Law association (VPELA).

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.
The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
