This is a part-time position (24 hours per week in our Port Melbourne office – you choose the days).

About Us:

As our conference bookkeeper, you’ll play a key role in keeping our financial processes running smoothly, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in everything we do.
Your Role:
As our bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for supporting financial operations behind the scenes. You'll work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, timely payments, and smooth financial processes.
Daily Responsibilities:
Process and track accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and client payments.
Ensure accurate coding of income and expenses by conference
Process weekly conference supplier pay runs in line with company payment terms.
Accurately process conference invoices, expense claims, and vendor payments.
Monitor and reconcile conference-related accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
Maintain up-to-date supplier records within the accounts payable system.
Assist with GST, BAS lodgement and compliance with ATO requirements
Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to resolve payment discrepancies.
Maintain financial records and assist with end-of-month reconciliations.
Conduct monthly credit card reconciliations, verifying records for on-charging.
Assist with general accounting tasks and other ad hoc duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related fields
Minimum of 3-4 years proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
Proficiency with accounting software Xero
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience in a small to medium business, ideally project-based business
Strong understanding of financial reporting, GST and compliance obligations in Australia
