About the role

Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, with no weekend or evening work required. As our Chef, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals for the children in our care.

What you'll be doing

Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals and snacks for the children following dietary requirements and preferences

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, ensuring all food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards

Collaborate with the team to understand the children's dietary needs and menu preferences

Adhere to all relevant food safety and hygiene regulations

Assist with the ordering and management of kitchen supplies and inventory

Provide a positive and engaging dining experience for the children

What we're looking for

Relevant qualification in commercial cookery or catering

Minimum 12 months experience as a Chef, preferably in a childcare or education setting

Knowledge of preparing healthy, balanced meals for children

Strong time management and organisational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment

Creative and adaptable approach to menu planning
