About the Role

As our After-Hours Cover Shift Cleaner, you’ll respond to any last-minute or planned evening/night/weekend needs. You’ll ensure clients’ spaces remain spotless and ready for the next business day, providing dependable coverage whenever team members call in or additional support is required.

Key Responsibilities

Clean & Maintain: Carry out tasks like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing across offices, retail spaces, and educational facilities—primarily during off-peak hours.

Cover Shifts: Adapt to varying after-hours schedules (evenings, nights, and weekends), filling in for absent staff or high-demand situations.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, quickly reporting maintenance or repair needs.

Travel Between Sites: Use your own vehicle to move between multiple client locations, with an allowance provided for travel.

Accurate Documentation: Keep detailed logs of completed tasks and any incidents, updating supervisors as necessary.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

Full-Time Availability for After-Hours: Willingness to work a schedule that includes evenings, nights, or weekends.

Australian Driver’s License + Own Transport: Essential for traveling between sites outside regular business hours.

Reliability & Adaptability: Able to handle shift changes on short notice and remain detail-oriented under pressure.

Police Check: Valid or willingness to obtain one.

Work Rights: Legal right to work in Australia.

Preferred

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, hospitality, or similar late-shift roles.

Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safety protocols.

Strong communication skills, especially when coordinating with night managers or security teams.

A Typical After-Hours Shift

Early Evening: Review your roster and respond to any new cover requests (e.g., a staff member calls in sick).

Night Work: Travel to allocated sites; complete thorough cleaning tasks while the spaces are less busy or unoccupied.

Late Night / Weekend Duties: Handle additional requests from site managers (e.g., post-event clean-up, deep-clean projects).

Shift Wrap-Up: Update logs, ensure all areas meet safety and quality standards, and finalize any reports for management.
