We’re on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join the morning team at Alma Surfers Paradise. This is a key leadership role in our beachside venue, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, early-start environment and takes pride in running smooth, efficient mornings.

About the Role:

5-day flexible roster
Paid under the Restaurant Industry Award – Level 4
Oversee the morning operations from open through to lunch trade
Assists Venue Manager in operations of venue

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support front-of-house team during morning service
Oversee Head Barista and Lead/train baristas, maintain coffee machine standards, and manage coffee stock
Hiring of morning FOH staff
Lead and train baristas, maintain coffee machine standards, and manage coffee stock
Handle daily ordering of fruit, milk, pastries, and dry goods
Create and manage staff rosters, track labour, and assist in labour efficiency
Maintain a clean, organised venue – from front-of-house to storerooms
Rotate and manage stock, monitor use-by dates and product quality
Liaise with kitchen and floor staff to ensure smooth service
Maintain high service standards, ensuring guests start their day with a great experience
Open and set up the venue for trade, manage cash handling and morning reports
Troubleshoot and take initiative when needed – from staff coverage to supplier issues

About You:

Confident leading a team and setting the pace for a strong service
Passionate about great coffee and breakfast culture
Organised, reliable, and proactive
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
A team player who knows how to bring good energy in the mornings
