As we grow our Design & Drafting Division, we’re searching for a forward-thinking, detail-obsessed engineer to lead structural design, council approvals, and compliance systems. This is a hybrid leadership role for someone who doesn’t just work in the system — they build it better.

The Role: Lead the Compliance Engine

Reporting directly to Tim King (Lead Design Technologist – Architect), you’ll be the bridge between concept and construction. Your mission: ensure every project is structurally sound, fully compliant, and ready to build — faster and smarter.

You’ll be responsible for:

Leading structural engineering across renovations, extensions, and complex residential projects.

Running Deemed-to-Comply assessments (DTC) and zoning checks to ensure seamless approvals.

Preparing and QA’ing CDC and DA documentation packs for certifiers and councils.

Managing compliance workflows — including NCC checks, setbacks, site coverage, overshadowing, and stormwater management.

Coordinating energy efficiency modelling (NatHERS, 6-Star) via external consultants and integrating it into project workflows.

Liaising directly with councils, private certifiers, and consultants to drive approvals home.

Collaborating with our automation and AI team to streamline and automate compliance processes, documentation, and approvals.

This isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s about building a scalable, smarter approvals engine.

You Bring:

Structural engineering qualifications (Registered or Experienced).

5–10 years in residential or light commercial projects.

A sharp understanding of NCC, R-Codes, and DTC/CDC approval pathways.

Hands-on experience preparing and managing council or certifier submissions.

Confidence in coordinating energy efficiency assessments with external consultants.

A systems mindset — you value clarity, process, and efficiency.

Bonus: Familiarity with platforms like Revit, or project automation tools.

Base salary: $120,000 - $140,000 + super.

Car allowance: $20,000 annually.
