About the role

The Cemetery Services Manager is a critical role within the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the authority's cemeteries located in Clearview, South Australia. As a full-time position, this role is integral to ensuring the smooth running and upkeep of these important community assets.

What you'll be doing

Manage the cemetery operations team, including scheduling, performance management, and professional development

Ensure operational procedures are current and use continuous improvement processes in collaboration witht all Teams

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of cemetery grounds, facilities, and infrastructure

Coordinate the planning and execution of burial, interment, and memorial services

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, WHS and industry standards

Liaise with families, funeral directors, and other stakeholders to provide excellent customer service

Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority

What we're looking for

Substantial experience in cemetery or facilities management, preferably within the construction or property management industries

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes

Thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as construction management or public administration
