What you'll be doing

The Handyman position supports the trades team with maintenance activities, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery. The role aligns with WSLHD's strategic goals and adheres to all relevant legislative and asset management guidelines.

In this dynamic role you will be:

• Assisting the trade team with maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring compliance with NSW Health asset management guidelines.
• Supporting meeting statutory, legislative, and code requirements.
• Contributing to Blacktown Hospital’s strategic and business objectives.
• Delivering trade services in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated experience working with power tools and machinery.
2. Demonstrated experience with following safe work procedures such as working at heights.
3. Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team based environment and familiarity with standard trade terminology.
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and undertake work in a busy environment with limited supervision.
5. Ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal form.
6. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from trades staff and management.
