Jupiter Health and Medical Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to join our team in Lancelin, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our busy general practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing high-quality customer service while supporting the practice team through a variety of administrative and operational duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising the reception team and ensuring the efficient flow of front desk operations

Greeting and assisting patients upon arrival, and ensuring all enquiries are handled professionally

Managing patient bookings, including coordinating appointments, managing waitlists, and triaging requests

Updating and maintaining accurate patient medical records and documentation

Processing payments, Medicare and DVA billing, and completing daily reconciliation

Coordinating referrals, test bookings, and documentation for medical staff

Assisting in the management of medical emergencies according to practice protocols

Supporting practice operations including stock management, opening/closing procedures, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment

Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy and regulatory guidelines

Communicating effectively with GPs, allied health professionals, and external providers

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a senior or medical receptionist in a general practice or similar healthcare environment

Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional manner

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Proficiency in medical software systems (Best Practice highly regarded) and general office applications

Understanding of Medicare billing processes, including item numbers, DVA, and Workers’ Compensation

High level of accuracy in handling records and patient documentation

Ability to lead and support a team, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture

Current First Aid accreditation (desirable)

Familiarity with medical terminology and general practice workflows
