Due to growth and strategic planning QED has expanded its services with the provision of an analytical laboratory, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst who is looking to develop their career into a future Laboratory Manager role.
About the role
This is a full time position in our NATA accredited laboratory specialising in hazardous materials testing and analysis in Bibra Lake, Perth. We work with a diverse range of clients across industries including construction, environmental consulting, and government sectors, ensuring compliance and safety in environments where hazardous materials pose a risk.
As a Laboratory Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely analytical results to support our operations and customers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst who is looking to build a long-term career with us. There is an attractive career path in this small team, to be mentored by the laboratory manager and take on more responsibility with breath of experience and demonstrated performance.
Join our small laboratory team with a steady workflow: sample preparation/handling, fibre identification, fibre counting, reporting and equipment calibration in accordance with NATA requirements and relevant standards. You will have the opportunity to go onsite for sample collection across Perth metro. Further training to become a licenced asbestos assessor and noise officer is available for the right candidate.
The laboratory operates day shift only, with the possibility of some flexible hours e.g. 7-3, 8-4 or 9-5. Regional travel for 2-5 consecutive days will occasionally be required – this is NOT a FIFO role.
What we’re looking for
Cert IV in laboratory techniques or Bachelor of Science (preferred)
2-3 years experience in a scientific laboratory (NATA-accredited or regulated laboratory) - asbestos analysis experience not essential
Familiarity with the rigours of ISO 17025 quality management system
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills
A proactive attitude, desire to grow your career and have an outsize impact in a small team
