A rare executive opportunity has now become available for a highly dynamic, motivated and results-driven leader in a newly appointed full-time Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO).

GCIO Overview

We are looking for a GCIO who is not only technically proficient but also someone who has exceptional leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will play an integral part in shaping our client’s technology strategy and ensuring their systems align with their overall goals.

You will be responsible for managing a national team of IT professionals and providing on the job mentoring and support. Furthermore, your appointment will be to maintain a strong, secure, and efficient IT infrastructure while also balancing cybersecurity measures and data protection.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and oversee the technology roadmap

Lead digital transformation

Proactively make recommendations as required for emerging technologies

Collaborate cross-functionality through partnering with various key stakeholders

Management of IT budget, forecasting and project financial accountabilities

Control the provision of secure and stable IT services and effective risk management strategies.

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and implement cybersecurity measures

Establish and maintain value-based stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships

Travel interstate (as required) to lead, mentor and coach your diverse team of IT professionals

Support and collaborate with the Customer Experience Director in the monitoring, upkeep and upgrade of their core ERP system

Staying on top of industry trends and new IT technologies through the attendance of training, events and forums

Skills & Experience

The GCIO is a pivotal company role where your strong understanding of various technologies used in the manufacturing industry will be highly regarded. Effective communication is also paramount to your success.

In addition we require:

Exceptional leadership capabilities & experience within an executive IT/Technology appointment

Manufacturing or similar industry experience (highly desirable)

Innovative thinker with a strategic mindset

Outstanding communicator with the ability to effectively converse complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and decision makers

Strong understanding of various technologies, corporate governance and cyber security

Innovator who constantly learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies
