THE ROLE

This newly scoped Head of People & Culture position offers the chance to lead, mentor, and elevate a growing P&C team, while partnering with business leaders to deliver high-quality HR across the organisation. You’ll oversee BAU HR operations, lead on employee relations, process improvement, and capability uplift, and play a key role in supporting the firm’s continued post-merger integration. With a well-established team and engaged leadership, the opportunity to drive consistency, clarity, and confidence in the HR function is huge. It’s a hands-on, people-centred role—perfect for someone who enjoys delivering results, mentoring others, and bringing structure to a busy environment.

THE DUTIES

  • HR Operations & Compliance – Oversee key HR programs including onboarding, performance reviews, remuneration cycles, learning and development, and engagement initiatives. Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, WHS, payroll, and reporting requirements while continuously improving policies and processes.
  • Employee Relations & Performance – Manage complex ER cases, disciplinary issues, and performance matters in collaboration with the Workplace Relations team. Support leaders in performance planning and ensure best-practice HR solutions.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Lead, mentor, and motivate the HR team across multisite locations, ensuring strong delivery, employee engagement, and commercially sound HR solutions.
  • Recruitment & Talent – Work with the Talent Acquisition Manager to support recruitment and deliver a seamless candidate experience while enhancing the employee value proposition.
  • Remuneration & Benefits – Oversee the annual remuneration review, working with Finance and leadership to ensure fair, competitive, and well-structured reward programs that drive retention and engagement.
  • Projects & Business Improvement – Lead HR projects and committee initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in HR operations and alignment with business objectives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are an experienced HR Operations Manager with a background in professional services, eager to lead a capable team and drive operational excellence. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, balancing strong stakeholder management with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.

  • Proven experience in an HR Operations or People & Culture Manager role, with a focus on execution and process improvement
  • Professional services industry experience (legal, accounting, financial services, or similar)
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-performing environment
  • Pragmatic, problem-solving approach, with experience in conflict resolution and handling complex HR matters
  • A natural mentor and leader, confident in coaching and developing a team while ensuring HR remains structured, efficient, and people-focused
