SUPERVISOR FREIGHT OPERATIONS & LOGISTICS

Summerland Freight and Distribution (SFD) is a family owned and operated company in partnership with Spring Grove Fresh Food Company and have been proudly servicing Australia since 1996. Specialising in temperature controlled distribution SFD have a regular freight service between major distribution centres in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well several rural locations.

Local to the Northern Rivers region of NSW, we also provide a personalised freight service into and out of the Northern Rivers on a daily basis. We enjoy working with new and existing customers to ensure the most efficient and professional temperature controlled distribution arrangements for the customers’ business.

We are looking for a Supervisor Freight Operations & Logistics to join our SFD team, located in Casino NSW. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm with the expectation of extending hours until all responsibilities are completed. Days of work can be negotiated but working a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month is a requirement. Remuneration and benefits will be discussed directly with the candidate.

Key Responsibilities include:

Allocating freight requests to truck runs

Truck and driver allocations

Generating and processing consignments

Supervising loadout operations

Loading and unloading trucks

Moving trucks between local depots

Liaising with staff members on paperwork

Required skills include:

HC Licence is essential

MC Licence is desired

The ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the business (extending hours, working weekends & assisting production, as required)

Strong attention to detail, prioritisation/organisation and problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work to strict timelines, handle high volumes & problem solve

Represent our culture of care, integrity and professionalism

Previous experience as a Truck Driver is strongly recommended.
