Are you a proactive leader with a passion for delivering high-quality fleet management services and driving sustainable change? We are seeking an experienced Fleet Coordinator to join our team and take a pivotal role in managing the Fleet Management Unit, ensuring effective service delivery, and helping guide the transition to a green fleet.

This role is part of Banyule's Leadership Network – you'll have opportunities to grow your skills and experience of leadership in a Local Government context and develop your skills as an organisational leader beyond your role-based expertise.

As Fleet Coordinator, you will provide leadership and support to the Fleet Management Team, championing best practices, customer service excellence, and innovation in line with regulatory standards and organisational goals. Based at our Bellfield Depot you'll also:

  • Manage the capital works plant renewal program, including stakeholder consultation, specification preparation, procurement, and tender evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and policy requirements, promoting innovation and safe work practices.
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends, with a focus on green technology, and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Strategically plan and lead the organisation's transition to a sustainable green fleet.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in Fleet and Workshop management with regard to service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in leadership of teams and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of up-to-date industry trends and practices in regard to fleet management and green fleet.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, tenders, contracts and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports and discussion papers.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, information and knowledge to identify and analyse trends and issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions

Pre-employment requirements

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Psychometric Assessment
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) (Previously known as a police check)
