IGS Early Learners is a near new, purpose-built long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep. The role of Assistant is to work with our Early Childhood Teacher to implement the program of activities and experiences that support learning for the children in our Pre-Prep room. This includes high quality educational experiences that align with the national quality standards and QKLG.
The Assistant will be responsible to:
- work with the Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to implement the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of the Kindergarten guidelines (QKLG).
- assist to ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the EYLF to help children develop a strong sense of their identity, connections with their world, strong sense of wellbeing confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills;
- be aware of the ECT's daily and weekly planning and objectives and assist with planning to meet these objectives;
- have an understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, IGS Early Learners’ policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the service meets all compliance obligations;
- care for the physical and emotional needs of children at the centre, relevant to their age and development; and
- undertake general tasks to contribute to the overall operation of the centre.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education; or
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
This role may also suit an Educator working towards a Bachelor of Early Childhood.

As a condition of employment, all non-teaching staff are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and are required to maintain their Blue Card for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
