About the role
YDAN is seeking a part-time (0.2 FTE) Finance Manager to join our team in our Nedlands, WA office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategic accounting initiatives that support the organisation's mission and growth objectives. As a small NFP, this is an inaugural role - we are seeking a conscientious self-starter with the ability to work independently with some supervision. As the organisation grows, it is expected the FTE and remuneration will also increase. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking long-term employment. What you'll be doing
Manage the organisation's day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow projections, and other key performance indicators to support leadership decision making
Oversee the annual audit process and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Provide strategic financial advice and recommendations to the executive team to ensure the long-term financial health and sustainability of the organisation
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems to drive greater efficiency and transparency
Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
What we're looking for
Minimum Diploma qualified in commerce or accounting. Membership of CPA/ICAA desirable. Experience in progressive finance, preferably within the not-for-profit or social services sector
Strong technical accounting skills with a good understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero and MS Excel.
Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful insights
Familiarity with grant management and government funding acquittal processes
Collaborative team player with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
Passion for the not-for-profit sector and a commitment to the organisation's mission and values. Living experience of disability highly desirable.

Essential Skills
Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
Diploma qualified in commerce or accounting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups
Strong knowledge of accounting softwares such as Xero or Myob and MS Excel
Experience in Management Accounting and Financial Accounting functions.
Strong computer literacy skills
Desirable
Previous experience in an NGO, disability services or the community sector
Membership of CPA/ICAA
Living experience as a person with disability
