DERMS Engineer - Exciting Energy Organisation

• $150 - $160k + super per annum

The primary purpose of the Derms Engineer role is to manage and support the technical solutions within Digital Electricity Solutions team through maintenance and continual improvement, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to help Principal Lead and Operations Lead to achieve their desired outcomes to all new and existing electricity DERMS initiatives.

• Lead the registration, validation, and testing of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) onto DERMs systems.
• Ensure connections fit the requirements of the connection process, and will participate within the customer connections workflow taking ownership of connections processing onto the DERMs.
• Drive the continuous improvement of DER processes and systems.
• Collaborate with product owners and application SME’s to deliver small to medium application enhancements to meet business needs.
• Lead and drive requirements gathering, solution design, test and deployment activities.
• Ensuring that the systems and associated application and interfaces meets regulatory, reliability, performance, and availability requirement SLA’s
• Act as an IT consultant, assess new business requirements and initiatives against solutions to understand functional and technical fit, and make system recommendations for new capabilities and enhancement releases
• Ability to review application roadmaps, plans and strategies and lead the delivery of DERMS solution landscape
• Prioritise product backlog and estimate effort for small to medium user stories.

Experience required

• Distribution Electricity industry background is preferred, in a hands-on OT role
• DERMs background preferred
• Asset connection/commissioning onto DERMs, SCADA or AMI
• Configuration management of an OT system
• Experience in the Utilities / Telecommunication industry in two or more of the following areas: Applications Development, Solution Architecture, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance and Support
• Exposure to IIoT and M2M solutions (implementation and design)
• Effective collaboration skills with experience working as part of cross functional agile teams
• Design and Lead IT Disaster and Recovery solutions, run sheets and exercises
• Hands on with various application development, configuration, source code management and automation technologies
• Experience in Solution Consultancy, Analyse functional requirements to produce optimized technical specifications and designs.
• To be able to act as a SME for the IT Metering Systems unit
