Due to the Payroll Manager being seconded onto a Dayforce implementation payroll project, this well established and rapidly growing Engineering company has just created a 12/15 month fixed-term contract, to support a long standing and well established team of three, processing an end to payroll using Preceda and Dayforce.
Preceda is the only essential requirement however (Dayforce will be taught) but they will look at all levels of experience (min of 6 months) and if you have any Dayforce (incoming payroll system) all the better!
This is a tried and tested payroll department with having recruited their entire team over the years, always with excellent feedback about the culture and working environment - the Payroll Manager fab, down to earth, fun and highly experienced - you will learn heaps!

NUTS & BOLTS
- Working with two Payroll Officers, helping them with multi state, end to end processing of approx. 800 employees (in total between them) using Preceda and Dayforce
- Weekly, fortnightly and monthly processing
- Ensure adherence to company directions and processes including, but not limited to, the areas of health and safety; disaster prevention; financial and business operations.
- Ensure ‘new’ Employee’ records within the payroll system are established with details completed in full, as required and that all Employee Records are maintained in an accurate and current state.
- Ensure the necessary authorisation/s are obtained before a change is made to the
- Employee Record and where circumstances change in the Employee/Contractor situation such change/s are immediately entered in the individual’s Record before filing
- Ensure payroll system is set up accurately and up-to-date with latest pay rates
- Ensure an accurate and current record is kept of individual sick leave, annual leave and other entitlements including all remittances on behalf of the Employee
- Maintain accurate Master Data in Payroll system
- Validate all weekly, fortnightly and monthly time sheets against the established protocols (eg, signing authority) and agreed budgets
- Ensure accuracy and optimise the efficiency of the Payroll System such that payments and remittances are made in accordance with the agreed schedules
- Prepare and remit all Statutory Reports and other Statutory obligations such as
- Federal and State Government Taxes, Superannuation payments by the due date
- Maintain effective communication with all employees/contractors, using the most appropriate medium, to ensure they are kept fully informed of their status, eg regular payslips, superannuation, sick leave, long service leave, Employee Separation Certificates
- Calculate and process Termination and Redundancy payments as required, by the due date
- Ensure all Payroll-related monthly reports are completed and submitted by the agreed date
- Ensure all monthly and yearly reconciliations are completed and submitted by the agreed date
- Ensure all Payroll-related Reports including end-of-year processing and reconciliation are completed and submitted (where applicable) by the agreed date
REQUIREMENTS:
- Min 5 years end to end payroll experience (Years aren't so important, it's what you have done with them that counts!)
- Preceda is essential (min of 6 months)
- Can commit to a min of 12 months
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive with a can do attitude!
