About the Role
As a Digital Education Officer, you will play a key role in bringing to life digital and technological opportunities available through vibrant programming at the brand-new Dordaak Kepup Library and Youth Innovation Hub – a space dedicated to inspiring creativity, innovation and growth.
The successful applicant will:
- Actively work with the Team Leader, Digital Advisor, Community Librarian and Youth Program & Engagement Officer to support and promote use of the digital and emerging technology offerings.
- Provide advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders on digital services and systems.
- Develops and delivers training and awareness sessions for community users and staff to effectively use of ICT, digital services and technology
- Assists and collaborates in the planning, provision, access and promotion of digital literacy programs and services.
- Build connections, foster relationships and develop partnerships with key internal and community stakeholders to provide digital literacy and emerging technology opportunities.
- Assist the Team Leader with daily library branch operations including supervising, training, and customer services.
About You
We are seeking a reliable and energetic individual with high-level communication skills, with experience and a passion for digital and emerging technologies, community development, customer service and library services.
Your experience will equip you with a well-developed understanding of what makes a contemporary community and/or library service, and a customer experience that is welcoming, responsive and inclusive.
Our ideal candidate will have a talent for educating technology use and bringing people together through community engagement, partnership, and program development fostering social cohesion, community capacity, creativity and learning.
The successful applicant will be a flexible team member that thrives in a dynamic organisation. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the following capabilities:
- Advanced digital literacy and numeracy skills with an ability to educate and support staff and customers in this area.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of ICT applications, computer software and hardware, management systems and emerging contemporary technology and equipment.
- Experience and the ability to train staff and community members to utilise digital technology and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in the organisation, facilitation, oral presentation and delivery of community-based services and programs, and outreach activities.
- Demonstrated experience in liaising and consulting with individuals, agencies, community groups and other stakeholders.
- Well-developed customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Monitor, research, evaluate and recommend advances in new technology and equipment to enhance offerings to the community.
Appointment to this position will be dependent on demonstrating success in a similar or related role, and your overall experience in creating and delivering engaging experiences for the community.
You will hold tertiary level qualifications in such fields as IT, business, technology, education or community development or have equivalent experience.
A valid C Class Drivers Licence and current Working with Children Check are also a requirement for this role.
